What Are Attributes?

Attributes are used to define your product features. They can be applied to any new or existing products, this way it can be used for several products in your store.

Let’s say you have a clothing store that sells tops, pants, socks, and shoes. A common attribute for all of these products would be the Size. Instead of creating custom attribute for the size of each new product you add, you can create product attributes that can be used for various product sizes.

It is best to set-up your attributes first so that you can use them on products that need them. It also saves time and keep things more organized!

How To Add A Product Without Attributes

  1. On the left menu, click on “Products”

  2. Below the “Products” heading, click on “Add New”
  3. Enter the Product Name, Description, etc…
  4. Scroll down to “Product Data”

  5. Make sure it says “Product data – Simple product”

  6. Click on the menu tabs on the left to fill in the data for the General, Inventory, Shipping, etc…
  7. On the right column you will see the option to Publish, add Product Image, add Product Gallery, select Product Categories and add Product Tags.
  8. In the “Product Image” section, add the main image for the product.

  9. In the “Product Gallery” section, here you can add other images related to the product. These images will display below the main image.

  10. Under “Product Categories”, choose the Category you want the item to be displayed in. You can have your product displayed in as many categories as you like.

  11. In the “Product Tags” section, you can add tags related to the product.

  12. When you are done entering your information, scroll back up to where it says “Publish”, here you can choose to “Publish/Update”, “Save Draft” or “Preview”.

  13. Go to the page on the front end and review your entry.
